  3.        ║      The following instruction describe how to install        ║
  4.        ║     the Paradise extended video drivers for Windows 3.0    ║

  8. step 1 - If you have already installed Windows 3.0 on your system, goto step
  9.          2. You do NOT have to re-install windows to change the driver.
  10.  
  11.      Otherwise, run 'setup' from the Microsoft Windows Disk 1 and follow
  12.          the instructions from step 4 when System Information list is
  13.          displayed.
  14.  
  15. step 2 - Go to the directory where you have installed Windows 3.0.
  16.  
  17. step 3 - Type 'setup' and press ENTER.
  18.  
  19. step 4 - Select the 'Display:' option from the System Information list using
  20.          the UP and DOWN ARROW keys and press ENTER.
  21.  
  22. step 5 - Scroll to the bottom of the list displayed using the DOWN ARROW key.
  23.  
  24. step 6 - Select 'Other' in the list and press ENTER. You will then be asked
  25.          to insert the OEM display driver disk.
  26.  
  27. step 7 - Put the Paradise VGA display driver disk in the drive you want to
  28.          use. Type in the correct pathname for the display driver disk if
  29.          the default path shown is wrong (i.e. 'A:\').
  30.  
  31. step 8 - Select the desired driver from the list defined on the disk and
  32.          press ENTER. You may be asked to insert the "Paradise display driver
  33.      disk" again. If so, again type in the correct pathname (i.e. 'A:\')
  34.          and press ENTER. Once the driver has been selected you will
  35.          return to the original configuration screen.

  37. step 9 - Choose 'Accept configuration shown above' and press ENTER to execute
  38.          the 'Complete Changes' process. Windows will return to DOS when the
  39.          configuration has been completed.

  43. NOTE:
  44.     1 - You can NOT run 'Setup' within Windows itself.
  45.  
  46.     2 - The COLORS.EXE file is a windows program which will display the
  47.         total colors available with the chosen driver.
  48.  
  49.     3 - When installing Windows for the first time and electing to select
  50.         one of the drivers provided on the Paradise display driver disk;
  51.         Windows setup program at some time will prompt you with the following
  52.         message:
  53.             Setup needs the following disk
  54.  
  55.     without giving the name of the disk. It is in fact requesting the
  56.     Paradise display driver disk. So, put the Paradise driver display
  57.         disk in the drive, type the complete path and press ENTER.
  58.  
  59.     4 - To obtain a larger font with the 1024x768 drivers, you can edit
  60.         the OEMSETUP.INF file on the OEMSETUP disk. This must be done BEFORE 
  61.         you install the drivers from the OEM setup disk. This will tell the
  62.      Windows Setup file what font files to install for use with Windows. 
  63.     You must change the font size in the [display] section for the 
  64.     1024 driver. Be sure to use a ASCII TEXT editor like Microsoft's
  65.     Notepad to make the changes. DO NOT use an editor that will insert 
  66.     control characters like MS Word, or MS Write.

  68.     To do this, change:

  70. vga1024 =  A:vga1024.drv, "Paradise VGA 1024x768 16-color", "100,96,96"........
  71.        to:
  72. vga1024 =  A:vga1024.drv, "Paradise VGA 1024x768 16-color", "100,120,120"........

  75.           You need only change the two paramaters marked.
